How it works
Food waste is collected and tipped at a Bardee facility.
The waste is manually decontaminated by our team.
It is then digitally scanned to attach a nutritional profile.
And processed into feed for black soldier fly larvae.
The feed is dosed into Bardee's vertical farming system.
Black soldier fly are bred in a controlled environment.
Each female fly lays 1,000 eggs with a 3 day gestation period.
The larvae eat food waste for 7 days growing 3,000x in size.
Larvae, castings and remaining contamination are separated.
The castings are refined into our range of Superfly fertilisers.
The larvae are processed into pet food and animal feed ingredients.
All products are made and packaged at a Bardee facility.
