Join the team as an Industrial Electrician

The Role

You will work closely with our CTO to ensure the safety, maintenance and productivity of our facility at Sunshine North. Examples of some of the work you will do:

‍

• Ensure site safety policies, procedures and safe work practices are followed at all times
• Scheduled preventive maintenance/inspections, breakdown repairs and installation of new electrical equipment and controls
• Troubleshooting and installing/programming PLCs and other electronic automation equipment
• Simple mechanical, plumbing and fabrication work (e.g. greasing bearings, repairing leaks, troubleshooting blockages, angle grinding, tapping, drilling, riveting etc)
• Managing projects, including procurement of parts and trades as needed
• Communicating effectively with the team
• Working creatively to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and cost-effectively to keep production running safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with production as needed, including handling food waste and insects, cleaning and operating machinery.

About you

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Trade qualified electrician (special class) in relevant field: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or equivalent 
• Minimum three years post-apprenticeship experience in a factor setting or similar
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
• Highly-motivated to recognise and drive improvement ideas and a proactive approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated experience installing and maintaining industrial electrical equipment, including PLCs
• Demonstrated experience in working with simple mechanical maintenance, mechanical repairs, plumbing, and fabrication
• Demonstrated experience working with automated manufacturing and materials handling
• Demonstrated ability to maintain workplace safety culture
• Drivers licence and vehicle to pick up smaller materials if needed.

We’d love it if you also have:

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
• Working knowledge of industrial robotics
• Skills in programming Arduino and Raspberry Pi
• Welding experience
• Working at Heights (RIIWHS204E)
